On behalf of the SSTAGE Board of Directors, welcome to the SSTAGE website! I hope you are a member of SSTAGE or that you are considering membership. SSTAGE is here to support you and your school district with everything related to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
As you are getting organized and ready for the school year, please plan to attend our two annual conferences. The fall conference will be held at the Anderson Conference Center in Macon, GA on September 12th. Our featured speaker will be Pat Quinn, the RtI Guy. Pat Quinn is a nationally-known expert in the field of RtI/MTSS, and we are both honored and fortunate to have someone of his caliber present information to us. As part of the conference cost, attendees will have free access to webinars and other training offered by Pat Quinn. A book entitled Ultimate RtI will also be included in the conference registration fee. For more information about Pat Quinn, please see his website at totalrti.com and patquinn.com.
The Promising Practices Conference will be held in Athens, GA at the Classic Center on January 15th. This conference is always a favorite as it features districts and school presentations, which provide information on the implementation of the RtI/MTSS process at the elementary, middle, high school, and district levels.
Attendance at one or both of these conferences will bolster your knowledge of the MTSS process and will increase the linkages you have with others working in this capacity. You will not only learn a great deal during the sessions, but you will also obtain valuable information through the conversations you have with others about practices that work in their districts.
MTSS is basically a model for school improvement. With fidelity of implementation, MTSS holds the promise of ensuring that no student’s needs, whether those are academic or social-emotional in nature, are overlooked. We are excited that you are part of this process, which will ultimately result in improved student outcomes!
