STRATEGIC PURPOSE:

Act in the place of the Board of Directors when authority is designated by the Board or in emergency matters where timely Executive Committee action is required and is subject to later ratification by the Board.

FUNCTIONS:

  • To coordinate internal board functions (meetings, orientation, recognition, and proprietary actions).
  • To hire, supervise and evaluate the Executive Director.
  • To take emergency action when necessary.
  • To create and monitor the strategic plan.

GOALS FOR 2011-2012:

  • Maintain and expand a collaborative relationship with GaDOE.
  • Foster a productive working relationship with GAEL.

The Executive Committee will maintain and expand collaborative relationship with GaDOE such as joint professional learning activities, feedback on Georgia BOE rules, participation on GaDOE committees, and support of GaDOE’s outreach to educators/systems throughout FY 2012.
